CARSTAIRS - Lance Colby is pleased to be re-elected (unofficially) as mayor of Carstairs for a fourth term with a very familiar council. Colby told the Gazette there are a number of issues that council would like to continue working on.

CARSTAIRS - The Town of Carstairs council will look very familiar with the incumbent mayor and five incumbent councillors elected, according to unofficial results released Monday night.

Melissa Copley has been elected as Chinook's Edge School Division trustee in Ward 9 (Carstairs/Cremona), defeating incumbent Sheldon Ball, according to unofficial results released Monday night.

Three newcomers will be joining four incumbents on the new Mountain View County council, according to unofficial results released Monday night. A total of 1,493 votes were cast in the county at 12 polling stations.

The nine candidates vying for seats on Mountain View County council have outlined some of their final plans and proposals in the run-up to the Oct. 16 vote. In Division 1, challenger Dwayne Fulton is facing off against incumbent Jeremy Sayer.
