It's the same old song and dance. When our fearless leader, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, proudly proclaimed “Canada is back” he was not by any means the first to coin the term, nor will he likely be the last to say it.

Last week the world witnessed the best and worst of humanity. There was the moving big step of reconciliation between Cuba and the United States to push past more than a half century of outright hostility and isolation.

Talk about putting the cart before the horse. It's bad enough Alberta Health Services admitted to having failed to adequately communicate to the community and region its intentions to close the Sundre Hospital and Care Centre's 15 long-term care beds.

First of all, I would like to start out by commending MLA Jason Nixon and the community of Sundre for attending the meeting held Monday, March 21 regarding the long-term care (LTC) unit closing at the hospital.

It is with great frustration that I write this letter.

Shockingly enough, the Liberal government's deficit budget ó which has nearly tripled beyond the party's campaign promise ó seems to have no shortage of support from groups and organizations throughout Canada.

I recently ran 21 kilometres (K) without any running training. I work out at the gym on a regular basis but have never run this far. The furthest I've run is 10K, which was over a year ago.
