The Sundre Brownies raised more than $9,000 over the last month to support children with cancer.

Thirteen teams from surrounding areas registered to participate in the 8th annual Swing for Charity over the weekend. Enthusiastic teammates played baseball in the snow and were dressed according to this year's theme ìcall of the wildî.

A children's choir from Uganda performed in Sundre on Feb. 17. Held at the McDougal Chapel, 33 people sang, danced and shared their stories with a full crowd.

A Facebook page was created late last month to express concerns about the possible closure of the road adjacent to Sundre High School.

The Sundre museum's 6th annual Winterfest featured a world-class ice sculpture artist. On Feb. 16 and 17, Julian Lee from Calgary carved sculptures out of ice blocks on the museum grounds.

The Town of Sundre will provide financial support for the upcoming provincial hockey tournament being hosted in town.

Town officials discussed increasing arena fees, effective next year, for local and non-local youth and adults, during the governance meeting on Feb. 11.

Proposed updates to the current cat bylaw seek to place stricter rules on cat ownership within Sundre.

Town officials are still trying to fix the long-term stormwater drainage issue on the east side of town. The majority of the drainage on Main Ave. East flows through an open drainage course on lots 920 Main Ave. East, 969 1st Ave. NE and 966 1st Ave.

During the governance meeting on Feb. 11, council again discussed the recommendations of the public ad hoc council compensation review, regarding an increase in their pay.
