In the community of Olds and surrounding area, many of us are aware and touched by the recent downturn in the economy. For people personally affected by this, it can be especially hard at Christmastime.

While Canada rushes to accommodate 25,000 people who have fled the nightmare of the Islamic State, we must not neglect the plight of people elsewhere in the world who need a safe haven.
