The prospects that hit the ice at the Penhold Regional Multiplex Centre to try out for the Penhold Amazons on Sept. 26 were looking good. Rick Potter, one of this year's co-coaches, was pleased with what he saw.

A man charged with sexual interference pleaded guilty on Sept. 25 when he appeared in the Court of Queen's Bench in Red Deer. Brandon Curtis Bill, an Innisfail area man, was sentenced to 60 days jail. That time is to be served intermittently.

A 28-year-old man lay on his back with blood on his face by the right-hand side of northbound QEII just past the Fas Gas near Bowden at about 7 p.m. on Sept. 20.

Pavement arrived along the remainder of Main Street last week as businesses along the corridor assessed the total cost of the project on their bottom line. While some businesses were not significantly affected, the effect was “crushing” for others.

An industrial road behind No Frills is now up and running and has already started to alleviate traffic congestion, according to store management.

A group offering a chance to improve communication and leadership skills has been started in Innisfail. A Toastmasters group had its first organizational meeting on Sept. 13 and the first full meeting Sept. 20.
