Olds teams shut out their opponents on Football Day

OLDS - Local teams dominated during Football Day in Olds, held Sept. 17 at Normie Kwong Field.

All three Olds teams shut out their opponents.

The peeweee Huskies thrashed Rocky Mountain House 47-0, the bantam Bulldogs crushed Hanna 69-0, and the E‰cole Olds High School Spartans began their season with a 25-0 defeat of the Carstairs Kodiaks.

A raft of local sponors helped make the event happen, including a $4,500 donation from the Town of Olds for a Summer Games Legacy Fund Grant of $4,500 to Olds Amateur Football Association.

The grant was a one-time distribution to be used for the betterment of sports opportunities in the community.

Town of Olds Mayor Judy Dahl made a presentation to mark the occasion.
