OLDS — A second annual dart tournament to raise money for Olds & District Special Olympics (ODSO) was held May 4 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #105.
Organizer Cathy Ould says it raised $700, below last year’s event, which raised $1,000 at the same venue.
Ould says 12 teams participated. That’s up slightly from the 10 teams that participated during last year’s inaugural event.
Just like last year, dart tournament participants came from Olds and Innisfail.
Ould figures they likely could have raised more money if they had access to more dart boards, but that wasn’t possible.
“We’re going to keep going,” she said. “We’re going to apply to get extra boards.”
