Olds RCMP are short a few officers, a local RCMP officer says.
During the Sept. 23 meeting of the Olds and District Community Policing Advisory Society, vice-chair Bonny Bellamy asked Olds RCMP Cpl. Mike Black what the staffing situation is at the detachment.
Black said one officer is on maternity leave. Another who has been trained in dog handling is currently here but is expected to be posted elsewhere soon.
“He's here working, but he could be transferred any day,” Black said.
