Grizzlys hitting ice in couple of weeks

The Olds Grizzlys will soon be hitting the ice in preparation for another Alberta Junior Hockey League season. Main rookie camp will be kicking off Aug. 20 and will run until Aug. 24, with a rookie Black and Gold game on Aug. 23.

The Olds Grizzlys will soon be hitting the ice in preparation for another Alberta Junior Hockey League season.

Main rookie camp will be kicking off Aug. 20 and will run until Aug. 24, with a rookie Black and Gold game on Aug. 23. The rookie camp will conclude the next night when Calgary Mustangs rookies will travel to Olds for a contest at the Olds Sports Complex. Both games will get underway at 7:30 p.m.

Following the game against the Mustangs rookies, the Grizzly newcomers will join veterans for a main camp running Aug. 25 and 26. A second Black and Gold game will take place on Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m.

The Grizzlys will then play two home exhibition games on Sept. 2 against the Mustangs and Sept. 6 against the Drumheller Dragons. Both those games will get underway at 7:30 p.m.

The regular season home opener will take place Sept. 9 against the St. Albert Steel.
