Olds firefighters are investigating a blaze that occurred in the 4800 block of 48th Street.
Firefighters got the call at about 7:40 p.m. Aug. 15.
No one was injured. Total cost of the damage is estimated to be more than $3,000.
"Upon arrival, an attack crew encountered smoke in the basement and evidence of a furnace room fire," an Olds Fire Department news release says.
"One basement wall and partial ceiling had to be removed to verify no further extension of the fire."
Firefighters have determined the blaze began near the water heater and surrounding wall.
