Bowden praised for book keeping skills

Bowden officials received a letter from Alberta Municipal Affairs praising the work they did on year-end audits.

It's not every day the town receives praise for something like that, Mayor Robb Stuart says.

“I don't think many communities get a letter like we got from the minister of Municipal Affairs saying what a great job we did on our year-end audits,” Stuart said during a Bowden council meeting. “That's what every politician wants to hear from the Auditor General.”

“I give a huge amount of credit to our staff,” Stuart added. “I think we should recognize that as a job well done on behalf of our staff.”

He said council's appreciation and praise should not only be relayed to staff in general, but also to chief administrative officer Andy Weiss.

“Thank you for your time and effort,” he said.

Coun. Sheila Church described the letter as “fantastic.”
