CARSTAIRS/DIDSBURY - Students from both Hugh Sutherland School in Carstairs and Didsbury High School recently saw a presentation from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Canada regarding the risks of impaired driving.

CARSTAIRS - A local group of quilters is putting its members' skills to good use. The Mountain View Quilters consist of avid members from around the region who meet once a week at the Half-Century Club in Carstairs.

CARSTAIRS - A children’s book produced by the collaboration of an Airdrie illustrator, a Carstairs publisher and musical act The Wardens may soon be in the hands of the Royal Family.

CARSTAIRS - This year's recent Carstairs Pumpkin Fest marked the 35th consecutive year of the popular event. One of the main organizers, Anne Strilchuk, has been on the committee every year starting with the first one back in 1985.

CARSTAIRS - At its regular council meeting on Sept. 23, council approved a motion to allow the town to purchase the Carstairs Community Golf Club.

CARSTAIRS - Despite colder weather, the Town of Carstairs was still hopping on the weekend as the town celebrated Alberta Culture Days.

CARSTAIRS - The group 100 Strong Carstairs recently held its first gathering and gave away $2,800 to one organization.

CARSTAIRS - The Carstairs Heritage Centre kicked off its monthly Music at the Museum concert series last Sunday with a performance by the Travelling Mabels.
