Skincare trends tend to follow the pace of our lives. In the last couple of years, pandemic lockdowns, more time indoors and increased leisure time meant that skincare became more targeted. Now that everything is starting to get back to pre-pandemic normalcy, skincare trends of 2023 are keeping up with the changes. Look for time-saving products, alternatives to needles and a renewed commitment to sustainability to pop up in your favourite cosmetics companies’ social media feeds.

Top 5 Skincare Trends for 2023

Here are our top five skincare trends for 2023:

  1. Back to Multi-Use Products

Over the last couple of years, we have seen a number of micro-targeted skincare products designed to take care of super-specific concerns. Now that most people are settling back into a post-pandemic schedule, the need for multi-use products is back. People just don’t have lockdown amounts of time for their skin care routines anymore.

Expect to see lots of 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 products that will help you to streamline your skincare routine.

  1. Focus on Your Skin Barrier

Products that are designed to support a healthy skin barrier are going to be at the forefront this year. Taking care of the outermost layer of your skin helps you to retain moisture, increase your glow, and keep your skin looking younger. Look for products that include ingredients like peptides and retinol to support healthy skin, increase collagen production, speed up healing, and help your skin look young and supple.

  1. Injectables Will Remain as Popular as Ever

Fillers will continue to increase in popularity. Dermal fillers that stimulate collagen production help to plump the skin, fill in lines and wrinkles and also improve the texture of the skin.

  1. Notox Tweakments

You read that right – notox tweakments refer to skincare treatments that mimic the results of traditional injectables without the use of needles. These types of treatments include things like LED facials and radio-frequency tightening procedures. Experts say that some of these cutting-edge non-invasive treatments can mimic the same results that you would get from fillers and other injectables.

  1. Sustainability

Expect to see brands telling you about their new sustainability initiatives. In order for companies to keep their environmental footprints under control, they will be rethinking their packaging and manufacturing in 2023.

Overall, skincare is just as important as it always has been. Innovation continues to improve the quality of products that are available and healthy skin is definitely on the agenda for 2023.
