The year ahead is poised to herald good tidings for the Town of Sundre and its residents. Among them is a relatively low projected tax increase of 1.9 per cent, said Mayor Terry Leslie. "That's because for the first time, we did a two-year budget.

There are many reasons to reflect positively on the past year. Sundre's Mayor Terry Leslie recently spoke with the Round Up about some of the highlights in 2015.

Sundre Economic Development has had installed a new visitor information sign at the Visitor Information Centre.

The Sundre and Bergen 4H Clubs held their annual food drive on Saturday, Dec. 12 with some assistance from members of the Sundre Fire Department as well as search and rescue. Ray Sharp, from Sundre, was among about a dozen local seniors playing a round of carpet bowling at the Sundre West Country Centre on Thursday, Dec. 3. The centre is a busy place, with a wide range of activities offered such as floor curling, square dancing, pool, crafts and card games like canasta and crib taking place throughout the week. Copies of the monthly calendar featuring the scheduled activities are available at the centre to anyone who's interested.
