Tips sought in saloon break in

Sundre RCMP officers are seeking information from the public to assist with an investigation following a break and enter and theft at the Sundre Saloon on April 10.

Sundre RCMP officers are seeking information from the public to assist with an investigation following a break and enter and theft at the Sundre Saloon on April 10.

Video surveillance tapes show several suspects and a white four-door truck with a black stripe driving by the area at the same time as the break-in.

Someone broke in between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. after the business had closed for the night, and stole an undisclosed amount of liquor and cash. The saloon has since closed its doors, but the business was still operating at that time.

“Video surveillance shows an individual dressed in a black jacket with a red stripe wearing white gloves inside the Sundre Saloon, then appeared to have exited the area,” explains Const. Morley Statchuk in a press release. “A short time later, two individuals entered the Sundre Saloon. One was wearing a long black jacket and one wearing a bomber style jacket.”

He also said a witness indicated that he saw a person wearing a black jacket, black pants and white gloves running in the area.

“The person running was described to have an ‘odd pace or gait'.”

Sundre RCMP officers are asking for anyone with any information regarding this incident to call the detachment at 403-638-3675 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
