Sundre RCMP are seeking information regarding a break and enter to a rural residence that resulted in the theft of firearms and other property.

The theft occurred on Friday, March 3 between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. at a rural property west of Sundre on Twp. Rd. 332 and Rge. Rd. 73 near Bearberry. Tire impressions indicated that a dually truck drove onto the property. One set of footprints in fresh snow showed the suspect had checked numerous outbuildings before breaking the glass on the front door to gain access to the main residence.

Approximately $14,000 in jewelry as well as 10 firearms ó which included a revolver ó were stolen. The suspect used a golf bag from the home to carry out the firearms from the residence. The homeowner reported seeing a suspicious late model white Dodge dually pickup drive onto the property approximately three weeks prior to this incident. A neighbour made a complaint the same day of a suspicious older white Jeep Cherokee with black wheel wells "cruising the neighbourhood" with two male occupants.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact the Sundre RCMP detachment at 403-638-3675. Alternatively, members of the public can also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). All information is kept confidential. Crime Stoppers may pay a reward for information that leads to an arrest, recovery of stolen property, seizure of illegal drugs and the location of wanted persons.
