A construction crew was busy working on Main Avenue last Tuesday, Oct. 17 to install at the Fourth Street intersection the first of three mini roundabouts. The project has been years in the making through collaboration among local stakeholders, the community, the Town of Sundre as well as Alberta Transportation, the provincial department responsible for highways that is covering the more than $1 million cost to deploy the pilot project. The goal is to improve safety by creating a bigger buffer between vehicles and pedestrians while maintaining a steady flow of traffic.
