Officers investigating hit and run

Sundre RCMP officers are investigating a hit and run where a driver of a red car cut off a motorcycle in town, causing the driver of the motorcycle to lose control and fall onto the pavement.

The driver of the red car failed to stop, and the driver of the motorcycle suffered minor scratches, but was not taken to hospital.

The vehicles were travelling westbound on Highway 27 and 2nd Avenue around 12:30 p.m. on May 30, according to Sundre RCMP constable Val Dennis.

The male driver of the motorcycle is 31 and lives in Sundre.

The driver of the red car could be charged with unsafe lane change, said Dennis, adding this type of incident is not common to the area.

BB gun fired at vehicle

Sundre RCMP officers are investigating BB gun inflicted property damage to a vehicle.

A BB gun had been fired at the vehicle while it was parked on 10 Avenue N.E. sometime between 4 and 6 p.m. on May 30, according to Sundre RCMP Const. Troy Hopkins.

A nearby traffic sign had also been shot at, he reported.

The person or persons responsible could be charged with mischief.

Bikes stolen from vehicle

Two bicycles were stolen from a vehicle parked at the Best Western Mountain View Inn & Suites in Sundre sometime during the evening of May 31 and the morning of June 1.

“The bikes were secured to the vehicle by a cable, which was cut by the thief,” reported Sundre RCMP constable Val Dennis.

One of the bikes has a white seat with pink accents and the other is a larger men's bike, silver in colour.

Officers are asking for anyone with any information regarding these incidents to contact the detachment at 403-638-3675 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
