A collision occurred outside of the Little Red Deer Store on Highway 27, east of Sundre, last Wednesday.

“The operator of the small truck turned in front of the dump truck which caused the collision,” said Earl Hutchinson, Sundre RCMP constable.

The pickup truck was turning left and didn't yield to the oncoming dump truck.

There were one female and two male occupants in the vehicle, who were all in their 30s.

The driver is being charged with turning left unsafely under the traffic safety act, said Hutchinson.

“One of the occupants in the truck has gone to Foothills hospital in Calgary,” he said.

The female occupant is facing serious injuries and has yet to be released from the hospital.

Kevin Gamble from the Sundre fire department said she had to be removed from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life.

A male occupant in the pickup truck was sent to the hospital with minor injuries and later released, said Hutchinson.

The male occupant in the dump truck faced no injuries.
