More than $1,000 was raised at this year's Dance Fitness and Yoga Fundraiser, and every penny went to the Sundre Aquaplex, said a planner.

“It's such a delight to organize this event and bring local fitness and yoga instructors together. I believe in community and that's what this event is all about — working together as a fitness community to support a very valuable part of the Sundre community,” said Kim Harbicht-Sczesny.

This year's event, which took place on a sunny Saturday, June 18 at the Aquaplex parking lot, featured leaders from several groups. Two hours of non-stop dancing was followed by half an hour of yoga stretching, but participants could take breaks throughout.

“While our participant numbers are still growing, I know that this annual event will only get bigger and better every year. Plans are already in the works for next year's event,” said Harbicht-Sczesny.
