Re: Coal mining must adhere to water regulations, says area MLA, environment minister

I doubt anyone who isn’t looking for a job in mining is keen to see coal mines start up west of us. But let's stick with facts, instead of the hype.

On April 27 The Albertan features a picture labelled ‘Dust from the Obed coal mine conveyor’. The photo shows the conveyor, with some road dust thrown up in a small area, by the truck in the picture.

The photo is courtesy of the Alberta Wilderness Association. This the same group that tried to ban snowmobiles in the West Country, by citing noise data from 1960’s snowmobiles.

The new 4-stroke snowmobiles were no noisier than a Japanese motorcycle, so they just hoped no one would check their data. It looks like they are at it again.
