Two local men face 19 charges after theft

Two Olds and area men are facing a total of 27 charges after an employee's purse containing a wallet, etc., was stolen from Heartland Funeral Services and cards in that wallet were used to buy items in various local businesses.

Levi Lucas Wear, 23, of the Olds area and Nicholas Vincent Hankewicz, 19, of Olds were due in court yesterday (Monday, July 17) to face those charges.

The theft occurred July 12.

Wear faces a total of 19 charges: four counts of using a stolen credit card, 11 counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, two counts of possessing a prohibited weapon in one way or another and two counts of breach of probation.

Hankewicz faces eight charges: two counts of using a stolen credit card, three counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, one count of possession of a concealed weapon, and two counts of breach of a recognizance.

After being arrested and going before a justice of the peace, both men were remanded in custody, pending Monday's court appearance.
