Council approved the Inter-municipal Cooperation Master Agreement with Mountain View County at its meeting on Jan. 11.

Mountain View County council did the same at its meeting later that week.

The two parties will sign the agreement at a joint council meeting on Jan. 25 at the county office before kicking off negotiations for various sub-agreements dealing with everything from land-use, utilities, recreation, libraries, protective services and more.

Council will send a letter supporting the Olds Golf Club's application for a grant from the Community Initiative Program.

The club is requesting a $75,000 grant to upgrade its parking lot, which has a gravel base that often sinks commercial and visiting vehicles during the first three months of the season, according to a letter sent to the town and Mountain View County.

"We are applying for the above listed grant so that we may be able to implement a project of soil cement stabilization which will produce a "pavement like" water impermeable surface designed to eliminate the problems listed above."

The town will sponsor the annual Farmers and Farmerettes Bonspiel for $250.

The yearly curling tournament takes place from Feb. 9 to 13.
