If you've ever admired the storm clouds of Central Alberta, this is your chance to own a dramatic image of the sky and support a good cause.
Bidding is open at Olds Municipal Library on a spectacular storm cell photograph. This high-quality canvas print was captured and donated by Brian Constantine, an award-winning photographer from Penhold.
Brian will be presenting a storm photography workshop at the Olds Municipal Library tonight (Friday, Sept. 9) as a fundraiser for three-year-old Nathan Sew and the Library.
Nathan is a brave youngster from Olds with neuroblastoma and OMS, a rare autoimmune disorder that causes the body to attack its own nervous system.
The storm-chasing community has banded together behind the family as they cope with this challenge. They hosted an additional event, The Chase for Nate, at the Olds Evergreen Centre on Aug. 27.
Brian promises a few chase stories, before-and-after photographs and a discussion of editing photos during tonight's appearance.
The talk starts at 7 p.m. Contact the library for ticket information. The silent auction will continue until the end of the evening at the library. All proceeds raised from the photograph will be donated to the local Sew family. Proceeds from the evening will be split between the library and the Sew family.
