Stolen Innisfail vehicle recovered in Olds, one person charged

OLDS - An Olds woman wanted on several outstanding warrants was arrested in town yesterday alleged to have been driving a truck stolen from Innisfail.

Members of the Auto Theft Unit South were conducting surveillance on known prolific offenders in Olds on Dec. 3 when they saw an unattended truck with a stolen licence plate outside a residence.

Police say a female exited the house and, with the assistance of the Olds RCMP, was arrested a short time later when driving the truck which was determined to have been stolen from Innisfail.

“The ignition had been punched and several break-in tools and items of stolen property were located within the vehicle. The driver was also in possession of what is suspected to be methamphetamine,” police reported in a press release issued today.

The driver, police identified as Starr Audrey Bowman, 31 years of age, from Olds, was wanted on several outstanding warrants, including offences related to being unlawfully at large, failing to attend court, possession of stolen credit cards and breach of probation.

Bowman has been charged with 14 new offences including several counts of possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, possession of break-in instruments, failure to comply with a recognizance and failure to comply with a probation order.

She has been remanded into custody awith a court appearance scheduled for a provincial court appearance in Calgary on Dec. 5.
