Snowfall warning in effect for Airdrie - Cochrane - Olds - Sundre area

OLDS - After a special weather statement was lifted for the Airdrie - Cochrane - Olds - Sundre area Wednesday, Environment Canada has now issued a snowfall warning for the area Thursday.

In Alberta, a snowfall warning is issued when 10 centimetres or more of snow falls within 12 hours or less.

Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 30 centimetres is expected, the April 4 early morning warning advised.

Heavy snow will taper off Friday morning.

"Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop," the warning concluded.

No warning has been issued for the Red Deer - Ponoka - Innisfail - Stettler area.
