BOWDEN ñ A solution may soon be found to a long-standing issue at the Bowden Action Park ñ noise made as skateboarders ride the metal quarter pipe and pyramid.

During council's May 15 meeting, Coun. Sheila Church said an attempt had been made to undertake a soundproofing solution suggested a couple of years ago ñ spraying foam underneath the ramps to muffle the reverberation as skaters go over them.

However, she said, workers were unable to access the area underneath. In fact, one got stuck trying to do so.

Bowden Community Action Society treasurer Pat Filipenko raised the issue in a delegation to council as far back as September 2014.

Coun. Wayne Milaney, who works in the construction business, was confident a solution can be found.

ìYou'd have to do a spray on it,î he said. ìBut why don't we go over there and look at it and we'll figure something out?î

Other councillors agreed with that idea.

Milaney said the work would provide the opportunity to install an inspection panel so it would be easier to get underneath for maintenance purposes, etc., in the future.

Church was relieved to hear Milaney's suggestion.

ìWe'd just given up on it,î she said.

ìWe'll get it done,î Milaney replied.
