Santa's Secret Shop, which came to the Mountain View Credit Union (MVCU) in Olds for the first time, was such a success organizers plan to run it again next year.
Santa's Secret Shop was set up in the MVCU lobby on Dec. 2. It was a way for kids to buy gifts that they could afford. Proceeds went to the Olds and District Christmas Angels Society.
“We went through 472 tickets/gifts and raised just over $2,200 for the Christmas Angels,” says organizer Joy Cavin.
The Christmas Angels Society collects toys for children of needy families in the community. It has also provided needy families with gift cards for local grocery stores.
“We were overwhelmed by the response. We did not expect that many and we absolutely plan to do this event on a yearly basis,” Cavin says.
