Robbery suspect to enter plea

Rory Alan Jackson, accused of robbery and theft under $5,000 in relation to a robbery at the Olds TD Canada Trust on 50 Avenue on June 4, is scheduled to enter a plea during his next court appearance in Didsbury on Aug. 26.

He made a brief appearance in Didsbury court on July 29 when the Aug. 26 appearance was scheduled.

Jackson, 46, was arrested at his home in Olds on June 12 and released from custody the same day.

Police said a man entered the bank at about 3:15 p.m. and demanded cash from a teller, declaring he had a firearm, although none was seen.

The suspect received an undisclosed amount of money and fled the bank on foot.
