Rory Alan Jackson, accused of robbing an Olds bank earlier this summer, reserved his election during a court appearance in Didsbury on the morning of Aug. 26.

Jackson, 46, stands accused of robbing the TD Canada Trust on 50 Avenue in Olds on June 4.

He is also accused of theft under $5,000 and driving while disqualified.

Police said a man entered the TD Canada Trust bank at about 3:15 p.m. and demanded cash from a teller, declaring he had a firearm, although none was seen.

The suspect received an undisclosed amount of money and fled the bank on foot.

Jackson was arrested in relation to the robbery at his home in Olds on June 12 and released from custody the same day.

Appearing in person on Aug. 26, Jackson told the court he had yet to secure legal advice and wanted to get legal aid before court proceedings went any further.

He reserved election of proceeding by judge and jury, judge alone, or entering a plea.

The matter was set over until Sept. 23 in Didsbury court.
