Olds RCMP are asking for your help to catch two men who tried to steal or break into an automated teller machine (ATM) at the Bowden Reddi Mart.

Cpl. Michael Black says the attempt was made on May 2 at about 4:15 a.m.

ìA dark blue-coloured dually truck decided to smash the front doors of the Reddi Mart there in Bowden,î Black says. ìAn ATM was targeted, however, nothing was taken.î

The attempted theft was caught on video.

The truck had a silver strip or stripe along the bottom. It also had orange marker lights, a fifth wheel hitch in the back and possibly a custom tailgate.

Black says the two male suspects were wearing ski masks and gloves.

RCMP are also once again urging residents not to leave any items in their vehicles that thieves might be tempted to grab.

In the past few weeks, a couple of vehicle break-ins have occurred in which a thief or thieves made off with wallets as well as vehicle registrations and other important paraphernalia.

One such theft occurred May 2 between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. in the 4800 block of 52nd Street.

In that case, a wallet, registration and insurance information was stolen.

Another occurred during the night of April 26 from a vehicle parked on Vermont Close.

Black says in that case, stolen items included change, a set of keys belonging to an ATV and trailer, and insurance/registration documents.

A wallet was also stolen from a vehicle that had been parked in the parking lot of The Bowl between April 22 and April 30.

If you have information on any of these thefts, please contact Olds RCMP at 403-556-3324 or Crime Stoppers (1-800-224-8477 or www.centralalbertacrimestoppers.ca).
