Tasty Thai co-owner Garnet Greipl says a very positive review his restaurant received from CBC Calgary restaurant reviewer John Gilchrist is good for Olds as a whole.
“It's really good for us, but it brings Olds into the spotlight as well,” says Greipl, who co-owns the restaurant with his wife, Lek.
“I think it will spur more people to come to Olds,” Greipl says, noting that hours after the review was broadcast April 22, the restaurant received customers from across the province.
“We had people from Lethbridge, Edmonton, Calgary, Sundre, Three Hills,” Greipl says. “He has a lot of followers.”
“Just to have those people come to town (is good for Olds),” he says. “Maybe they come here and have lunch or supper, but they might have stopped at other places as well, right?”
Gilchrist gave the restaurant an eight out of 10, which is pretty good, even for restaurants in Calgary.
“We feel very good about that. We're very proud of that,” Greipl says.
