OLDS — The town now has its own toboggan hill.

Operations director Scott Grieco told Town of Olds council during a recent meeting that construction of the hill, located in Rotary Athletic park, has been completed.

Construction of the hill, located on the east side of the park, began in July.

"We don’t want to talk about snow, but (I’m) happy to say we have a toboggan hill that has been seeded. It has been completed,” Grieco said.

“It’ll be a good location for local residents to do their tobogganing. Winter is soon upon us."

Town of Olds Mayor Judy Dahl asked why fencing has been erected at the top of the hill on two sides. She said three residents had asked her that question.

Grieco indicated the fencing was installed for safety reasons, to prevent users from ending up in the nearby creek.
