The Olds Hospital and Care Centre has three ETAC transfer aids, thanks to the Olds Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 105).

The legion covered the entire $1,763.21 cost for the aids, which will serve veterans and the community as a whole.

“The aids make transferring safer for both patients and staff, as there is less pivoting and lifting,” a legion news release says.

The legion also covered the entire $3,617.25 cost to buy a wall-mounted pulley system for the physiotherapy department to enable users to strengthen upper body muscles.

“Through generous donations from the community of Olds to the Olds Legion Poppy Fund, it has made it possible for us to donate funds back into our community,” the release says.
