Olds International Women's Day event Friday features awards, cabinet minister

Dozens of Central Albertan business women nominated for awards in three categories

OLDS — An event marking International Women's Day on Friday will not only feature a celebration of business award nominees and winners but also an appearance by an Alberta cabinet minister.

Arts, Culture and Status of Women Minister Tanya Fir is to expected to be at the Mountain View & Neighbours Women in Business 2024 Luncheon and Awards in Olds Friday, March 8.

The event is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pomeroy Inn & Suites.

The awards committee sought nominations in a variety of categories. Nominees include the following:

Visionary Young Woman

• Cremona - Erin MacLean

• Didsbury - Camille Labrecque

• Linden - Jess Reid

• Olds - Cassidy Rochemont

• Sundre - Melissa Shippy

Woman of Influence

• Carstairs - Michelle Ball, Debra Grosfield, Betty Ann Horbay and Lara Pawluk

• Cremona: Jennie Thompson

• Didsbury - Sheree Andrews

• Olds Joy Cavin, Katie Imler (Marshall), Stacey Stilling, Becky Taylor, Debbie Thomson and Mary Turner

• Mountain View County - Diane Engel-Kimmel and Cheri Foat

• Sundre - Chantal Crawford and Sarah Kennedy

• Water Valley - Monique Firth-Wilson

• Wimborne/Torrington - Cassia Davy and Dorothy Weimer

Business Woman of The Year
