Olds High School (OHS) football team manager Amy Waldron is confident the Spartans will have some valuable experience as they head into next year's season.

“We've got about 11 Grade 12s leaving. But I think with our feeder teams, like the Bulldogs, we're not looking too bad for numbers,” she says.

Waldron estimates Grade 12s made up less than half – perhaps a third -- of the team this year.

Earlier, the team held its annual banquet and awards night at OHS.

Nathan Mulholland was named most valuable player.

Kale Wright was the top offensive player.

Two players took home top defensive player honours: Eastin Thorburn and Jake Tebb.

Nils Haeni was named the top lineman.

Trayven Graham is the rookie of the year.

Players contributing the most and receiving the least recognition were Reed Vammen and Taylor Bracken.

Victor Moyo is the most improved player.
