An Olds resident is facing two fraud-related charges in connection with an allegedly altered prescription at a local business.

Kimberley Dawn Richards, 32, is charged with possession of a forged document and one count of forgery.

Olds RCMP got the call April 18 at about 10:45 a.m.

"It's not a double doctoring-type situation but the actual prescription was changed," Cpl. Michael Black says.

Black says RCMP don't come across alleged crimes of this sort very often in Olds. It might come up once a year here.

He says the crime may be spurred by the current economic downturn as well as addictions.
