The Olds High School Grade 10 class of 1941-42 held its annual reunion on July 21 at Smitty's Restaurant in Olds.

In the fall of 1942, 34 former Grade 10 students enrolled to continue their education in Grade 11 at Olds High School.

Through organizing by Jean and Ralph Richards and the late Edna and Mel Richards, the first reunion was held in 1975 at Westward Ho Park. There were 33 students and spouses in attendance.

Everyone had such a great time renewing old acquaintances and meeting new friends, it was decided to hold a reunion every five years.

Shortly thereafter, reunions were held every two years and annually since 2009 when a total of 19 were present. Attendance decreased to 13 in 2014 and 11 in 2015.

With the sad loss of Edna Richards, this year's reunion was very well organized by Jean and Ralph Richards.

After telephone discussions with those they could contact, it was decided that it was no longer feasible to rent our usual meeting place at Coburn Hall or to hire a caterer.

This year's group was reduced to six students and one spouse. Everyone enjoyed reminiscing with old friends, reviewing previous photos and documents.

Even though our numbers have decreased over the years, fond memories and good friendships linger on.
