Your chance to party takes place Oct. 29 when the Rotary Club of Olds holds its annual Harvest Ball.

The fundraiser takes place at the Alumni Centre. Doors open at 6 p.m. Supper begins at 7 p.m., followed by the program.

The theme this year is Rock and Roll All Night.

“It's a look back at the '50s, '60s, '70s and '80s,” past club president Terry Cody says. “That's always a lot of fun.”

Cody notes funds raised via the ball go to funding various projects.

“Those funds have permitted us to contribute to many things that have made life better in Olds and area,” he says.

Local projects funded by the club in recent years include the splash park and skateboard park and support for Olds High School. The club has also joined others in providing funding for the Olds Regional Exhibition's new community kitchen.

It has also funded various aspects of the Olds Fire Department, including hose pressure testers.

“We've been able to provide them with some of their wants that exceed the town's budget,” he says.

“The reason for the club's existence is to help fill the needs of the community,” Cody says. “We think it's worthwhile work.”
