First part of sewer relining project underway in Olds

OLDS — Work has already begun on a project to examine and re-line sewer pipes in town. 

Employees are cleaning, undertaking inspection videos and gathering information for the project, acting operations director Doug Wagstaff said in an email.

Once that work has been done, the actual relining is expected to be undertaken about a month from now.

This is the second year of the sewer relining project. This year, about 1.3 kilometres of sewer pipes will be relined.

Following is a list of streets or avenues that will be affected:

• a section of Shannon Drive from just west of Shannon Close to 43rd Street Close  

• Shannon Close 

• a section of 55th Avenue from 44th Street to 43rd Street 

• 49th Street from 50th Avenue to 52nd Avenue 

• 56th Street from 49th Avenue to 48th Avenue 

• 49th Ave (one small section going north from 56th Street) and 

• 51st Street from 48th Avenue to 47th Avenue.
