OLDS – Local Mounties are turning to the public for help identifying a suspect in a case of mischief after a pickup truck reportedly burned rubber all over a rainbow crosswalk in town earlier this summer.

In a press release issued today (Wednesday, Sept. 7), the Olds RCMP department reported that members were notified on Tuesday, July 26 by security personnel at Olds College of Agriculture & Technology that a vehicle was doing burnouts on the college's Pride crosswalk.

“It was reported that a maroon Dodge pickup truck was the suspect vehicle making the large black marks across the rainbow-coloured crosswalk, and that this wasn’t the first time they had seen this vehicle doing burnouts at this location,” reads a portion of the press release.

Police would like to speak with the truck’s driver.

Anyone with information about either the driver or the vehicle is encouraged to contact the Olds RCMP at 403-556-3323. Callers who prefer to remain anonymous may alternatively contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), submit information online at www.P3Tips.com, or by using the P3 Tips app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
