The Cowboy Coffee Company has been flagged by Google maps as the most popular place to have coffee in Central Alberta.
The acknowledgement was made by patrons, who, upon going to the shop and then finding out about the business being placed on Google maps, liked the business on the popular Internet application. Google then phoned the business and said they were giving the coffee shop a red push pin for the favourite place in Central Alberta to have coffee, said Jordan Baker, the shop's manager.
“If it wasn't for my customers, I wouldn't be getting this rating. I was excited when I heard about that,” he said.
The nod has gotten the coffee shop a lot of attention from out-of-town visitors who have come into the shop and mentioned that they saw the business on Google maps, Baker said.
Baker initially put the coffee shop on Google maps because he thought it would be a good way to promote the business.
