Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills MLA and United Conservative Party interim leader Nathan Cooper kicked off his summer tour Wednesday (Aug. 2) in Olds.

He shook hands and talked with patrons at the Tim Hortons-Wendy's building and sold food and drinks at the Tim's drive-thru before attending the Oldstoberfest kickoff at the Cow Palace at noon.

Cooper told reporters he plans to tour the province to get input from Albertans about the party, but planned to be back in Olds this Saturday (Aug. 5) for 4-H centennial celebrations at the Olds Regional Exhibition grounds. Olds was the birthplace of 4-H in Alberta in 1917.

He indicated the tour will last about a month.
