Chamber hosting webinar on anti-spam regulations

The Olds and District Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a webinar on the federal government's new anti-spam legislation on Jan. 29 at the Olds Municipal Library.

The Olds and District Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a webinar on the federal government’s new anti-spam legislation on Jan. 29 at the Olds Municipal Library.
The webinar will talk about the implications of the legislation and how the legislation will impact businesses and their ability to conduct business. Under the legislation, businesses must acquire consent from potential recipients in order to send marketing emails and other commercial electronic communications.
The regulations will take effect on July 1.
The webinar will cover topics such as how to get consent, what consent is, proving consent, exemptions from the regulations and what it will mean for business.
