Cause of fire, fatality "not suspicious: RCMP

On March 4, a fire broke out in a garage on a rural property west of Bowden. When it was extinguished, the body of a 53-year-old woman was found. Police and firefighters are continuing to investigate the blaze, but the cause of the fire and her death are not considered to be suspicious.

RCMP and Olds firefighters are continuing to investigate an incident in which the body of a woman was found in the aftermath of a garage fire north of town.

Emergency crews from Olds and Bowden were called to the fire east and a bit south of Bowden on March 4 at 7:40 a.m.

When the fire was was extinguished, the body of a 53-year-old woman was found inside the burned garage. No one else was in the garage at the time.

Police say the cause of the fire and the woman's death "are not considered suspicious."

Police are not releasing the name of the deceased.
