Chase for Nate raised $24,272 for a young boy fighting cancer.

Held on Aug. 27 at the Evergreen Centre, the event featured food, music and an auction benefiting the parents of three-year-old Nathan Sew.

Sew was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when he was 14 months old. The boy's mother Lacee had left her job in order to be his caregiver while father Oren had only recently found work again after being laid off.

The Sews have created a Facebook page called Nate's Journey to document their son's passage through the health-care system. A post from Aug. 26 states that the boy will receive chemotherapy treatment every four weeks and will take steroids for five days once a month until 2019. One of the photos with the post appears to show Sew giving the camera a thumbs-up.

Chase for Nate was organized by family friends Artur and Shannon Pyzalski and local storm chasers.

Several businesses in Olds and area have held fundraisers for Nate as well.

Nathan Sew's chemotherapy ended in June 2015. He is currently being treated for a blood clot and an infection.
