Busy period for Olds RCMP

Theft of vehicle licence plates continues to be a problem in Olds. Olds RCMP say on March 10, two such incidents occurred. On that day, a licence plate was stolen from an RV in the 4800 Block of 50 Street.

Olds RCMP say on March 10, two such incidents occurred. On that day, a licence plate was stolen from an RV in the 4800 Block of 50 Street. Another was taken from a passenger vehicle in the 5300 Block of 46 Avenue (Highway 2A).

Those are just two of the many cases Olds RCMP dealt with between March 4 and March 11. During that period, police received 90 calls for service.

Ten involved suspicious people, vehicles or property; two involved mischief to property; four were in regard to alleged assaults; another four involved complaints of disturbing the peace; and eight were false alarms.

On March 9, a battery was stolen from an RV at a home in the 5700 Block of 58 Street.

On March 6, a 2013 GMC pickup was stolen from 21 Street in Bowden. Police believe it was taken between 6 p.m. and 11 a.m. The vehicle was recovered the next day in a rural area on Twp. Rd. 342.

Between March 4 and 5 thieves broke into 18 trailers at the Cow Palace. Televisions were stolen.
