OLDS - Staples in Olds teamed up with local schools and the Boys and Girls Club of Olds and Area (BGCOA) for its annual Back To School campaign to supply families in need with school supplies.

Customers donate money toward the cause. As of late last month, about $4,800 had been collected, up from about $3,000 last year, but below roughly $5,000 collected in 2019 before COVID restrictions.

Boys and Girls Club of Olds and Area loaded up their share of the supplies prior to school starting and packed them into backpacks.

Four of those backpacks were sponsored by FortisAlberta and are worth $230 to $240, according to Staples Olds manager Kamran Saeed.
