A total of $10,000 worth of eyewear was stolen from the Olds Eyecare Clinic over the weekend, according to Olds RCMP.

Const. Kurtis Milbrandt said an employee came into work on Aug. 22 and found that the office had been rummaged through.

"It didn't look like there was any forced entry," Milbrandt said.

Police say the pilfered inventory included sunglasses from the brands Serengeti, Versace, Oakley and Ran Ban. They encourage citizens to be on the lookout for anybody selling such items on Facebook or eBay. Pawnshop owners have also been alerted.

Milbrandt also said police would be getting a few items fingerprinted.

The clinic's Dr. Tanya Sitter said employees were present as late as Sunday night at 8 p.m. and surmises that the theft occurred sometime after then and before the next morning.

She said employees felt like their privacy had been invaded following the break in.

Speaking on Aug. 22, it was business as usual at the clinic, though Sitter said they will be changing locks and installing cameras.
