The turning point in the Olds Grizzlys' nail-biting victory over the Camrose Kodiaks at the Olds Sports Complex on Nov. 5 was Kyle Star's successful penalty shot in the second period.

The game prior to that point was a lackluster contest of back-and-forth between the teams and Star's goal—handed to the Grizzlys after the Kodiaks were called for interference as Star drove towards the Camrose net—reenergized the squad.

For a few minutes anyway.

The Kodiaks responded with just under three minutes left in the period when Connor Mailey easily sent the puck into the top shelf of the Grizzlys' net when Olds couldn't clear the action from their own zone.

The third period produced nothing for either team besides a handful of penalties from a series of brawls.

But Olds' Chris Gerrie was able to give the Grizzlys an overtime win with a cunning come-from-behind-the-net goal at the 3:27 mark in the extra frame.

The Grizzlys were scheduled to play Bonnyville on Nov. 9 and as of Nov. 8, the team was in fifth place in the Alberta Junior Hockey League's south division.
